Hildur Gudnadóttir feat. BJ Nilsen
Dit jaar is de openings act een optreden van Hildur Gudnadóttir (Touch & Bedroom Community, voorheen bekend als Lost In Hildurness), een cellist en componist, bekend van haar samenwerkingen met Múm en Pan Sonic. Gudnadóttir heeft verder samengewerkt, gespeeld en opgenomen met andere artiesten zoals Animal Collective, Hafler trio, Jóhann Jóhannsson, SchneiderTM, Ben Frost en vele anderen. Op deze avond zal ze spelen met field recording artiest en performer BJ Nilsen; delicate duetten betoveren de sombere vervoering van multi tracked cello – waarbij Gudnadóttir’s live performance wordt versterkt door laptop loops.
It’s directed from within and needs no justification from without. Seriously, you would battle with snakes to get into a show of Cobra Killer.
Het wilde en obscure optreden van de band Cobra Killer (Gina D.Orio & Annika Trost) zal de grote zaal van het Paard gaan vullen met apocalyptische, sirene-achtige koren, 60’s samples, orchel geladen avant-punk en psychedelica.
Stewart Walker
De in Berlijn gevestigde artiest Stewart Walker is een rusteloze innovator. Hij heeft een waardevolle invloed gehad op de ontwikkeling van het huidige club geluid, maar kiest nog steeds voor het minder vaak bewandelde pad: werkzaam als producent in een wereld van DJ’s tracht hij functionele elektronische dansmuziek te injecteren met emotie. In 1999 werd Walker’s debuut ‘Nothing Produces Stark Imagery’ uitgebracht op het Berlijnse Tresor, gevolgd door het nu klassieke minimalistische experiment ‘Stabiles’ op Mille Plateaux. Deze producties bleken de basis te zijn geweest in de ontwikkeling van minimal techno. Walker bleef platen uitbrengen op labels als Minus en Force Inc. Momenteel bouwt hij rustig verder aan een label familie van ondefinieerbare artiesten op zijn eigen Persona.
Guido Möbius
Solo-artiest Guido Möbius zal de zaal vullen met een uniek en intiem geluid, waarvoor hij veel, met name akoestische, instrumenten gebruikt die het geluidscollage definiëren. Ondanks zijn complexe stukken blijft er altijd een groove factor, waarbij hij vooral gebruik maakt van poly-ritmische percussie patronen en continu wisselende harmonieën. Een ding is zeker: hij heeft een zeer originele visie op popmuziek.

dbZwoVier + Sudden Infant
dbZwoVier was founded in Berlin/Germany in late 2005 by Markus Kraemer, Harald Berger and Thomas Schwarz, shortly afterwards named Banque Allemande Vingt-Quatre. In 2007, the name morphed to the short version dbZwoVier. Today, dbZwoVier is Markus Kraemer, Harald Berger and Karl Mittenzwei.
DJ Markus Detmer
Markus Detmer founded the label Staubgold in Cologne in 1998. In the ensuing years, the label has become an acclaimed brand representing experimental and electronic music around the world. Its roster boasts internationally known names like Faust, To Rococo Rot, Mapstation, Ekkehard Ehlers, Rafael Toral and Oren Ambarchi. In 2003, the label shifted its base from Cologne to Berlin. As a DJ, Detmer has presented his sensitive sound collages of minimal music, avantgarde and techno at festivals and in clubs around the world.

Als afsluiter van deze avontuurlijke avond zal in de kleine zaal het Berlijnse label Cock Rock Disco hun Monsters of Cockrockdisco tour afsluiten op Berlin Ruft An!! Duran Duran Duran (ook bekend van zijn werk op Planet Mu), Nero’s Day At Disneyland, Glowstyx (Bong-Ra) en DJ Donna Summer (Jason Forrest) zullen de avond omtoveren tot een smeltkroes van breakcore, rave en een hybryde van dans muziek tot in de late uurtjes.
Nero’s Day At Disneyland
Nero’s Day at Disneyland offers one of those listening experiences that leaves you feeling like you have no idea what just hit you. An experience that will most likely leave you a little bit afraid, a little bit giddy, and utterly amazed. Nero’s Day started as an absurd amalgam of styles — falling somewhere between Venetian Snares, Mr. Bungle, Danny Elfman, and some kind of video-game influenced art punk. His past two releases have found Brock delving heavily into the breakcore elements of the sound he crafted on his debut album. And the results have been exceptional (don’t believe us? Ask Venetian Snares- he thinks so too!).
Duran Duran Duran
Some people have reported that Duran Duran Duran is produced by Jason Forrest, (he wishes it were true!) but the genius lies solely with 3 people: Ed Flis, Michael Chaiken, and Tony Gabor. While both Michael and Tony * contributed to “Very Pleasure”, Ed Flis is, however, the main working member of Duran Duran Duran. A young lad from Philadelphia, Ed Flis has been traveling around the world stealing your girlfriend and exploding laptops. One might call him the new John Holmes. Probably amongst the best breakcore you have ever heard.
DJ Donna Summer
DJ Donna Summer (aka Jason Forrest) releases groundbreaking records by a.o. Duran Duran Duran, Drumcorps and Otto Von Schirach on his CockRockDisco label. He returns to the realm of breakcore with a hybrid of dance music styles congealed into a new ass-moving mass of huge kicks, Hardstyle synths, nu-style DnB breaks, old-school rave, booty, techno and yes, Breakcore!!!
Glowstyx
Als Glowstyx neemt Jason Kohnen (Bong-Ra) je terug naar 1992: toen house voor mietjes was, en rave de dansvloeren liet vollopen. Met Glowstyx reproduceert hij het geluid van die tijd: Het is een waar feest der herkenning.The old-school Rave revival is here!
Mark Boombastik
Mark Boombastik (member of Khan of Finland) is a unique experimental beatboxer. He has collaborated with artists from Hamburg`s hip hop scene to electronic musicians (Funkstorung, Felix Kubin, Candie Hank etc.). Nobody ever created such a thunderstorm of fat and tight beats with his mouth. His teeth are stroboscopes, his lips a million amps, his tongue a billion drum-rolls.
Kornreiniger
KornreinigeR is a duo band from Berlin and Madrid. They are known for covering 80’s hits such as ‘Feels Like Heaven’ and ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’. They use a laptop, a high-head, a clarinet and now and then a guitar. Their wild performances either causes people to smile and dance like mad, or just to stand there, frowning. Better to see this blast of electronic karaoke-trash live!
IMLER
Chris IMLER is Berlin’s most unscrupulous, corrupt, and fascinating drummer. He was part of the legendary Golden Showers, as well as one half of the infamous Spankings (with Taylor Savvy). He played with the likes of Soffy O, Peaches, Jens Friebe, Electronicat, Namosh, and has recently been haunting the stages of ill-famed dives worldwide as Driver (his current band with Candie Hank). His latest project was a strange detour into the glitzy world of fine arts: a sound-installation with Patric Catani for the Robert Willson Institute in New York. Now he is his own one-man-bang-gang, performing under the excentric stage name: IMLER. Delay-alienated vocals and jarring drums, accompanied by booming basses and hypnotic loops cause all the trembling, shaking and shivering. IMLER bangs his drum for you, too – until his ears are jingling. His sticks are raised index fingers against moral and hope. But only your internal wasteland and ignorance, your anemia and coldheartedness raised his tinnitus to real monstrosity.
O Tannenbaum DJ’s
The O Tannenbaum DJ’s are the people (Olivier and Pieter) behind the O Tannenbaum art / concert space in Berlin. They mix African hip hop with Syrian electronic moustache Music, 80’s wave and disco, 70’s Dutch punk, German electronics and more.
